About
Victor Gong
Victor is a rising senior in Harker high school with a passion for computer science, electrical engineering, and journalism. Ever since his elementary school years, he's been fascinated with programming and its endless possibilities. He started out making classic arcade-style games with Python and soon expanded to more complicated projects, such as detecting drunk driving with statistical analysis and developing a strong (~2500 ELO) AI chess model.
Besides personal projects, he's also an avid competitive programmer. He placed 1st place and won a Gold Medal in the American Computer Science League (ACSL) Finals competition 2x in 2021 and 2023, and he's also currently competing in the USA Computing Olympiad (USACO) Platinum Division and passed the Gold division with a full score. In his free time, he enjoys writing about fascinating scientific topics, developing games, 3D modeling in Blender, cooking, and also loves playing the piano and saxophone.
